This is really weird. I just realized that Charley’s nails have gotten so long and strong since we have moved to our new place. We have access to 2 big parks so she has been running on grass and soft dirt. At the other place we had a parking lot for play, or a small dog run with gravel. So her toe nails were always short from the friction with the pavement.
I have never clipped her nails since I’ve gotten her when she was 6 weeks old. She’ll be 5 (!) September. Wait. It is September. Her birthday is in 7 days. She’ll be labeled now as a “mature adult” dog. Why does this make me so sad? I want her to be a puppy again. Even though she was a handful.
Well I guess we all get older.
Oh, I read this one saying today. It said “today is the day you will be at your youngest”.
That was off the subject. Charley’s nails. They are long and black. The way I noticed was I got scratched by her and it left marks. She’d never done that before.
So, I’ve got to buy a dog nail clipper and embark on a new experience with Charley. I don’t know how she is going to take it. She doesn’t like her feet to be played with.
This will be interesting!
