Well, I made it to the dentist to have what I thought all of my bottom teeth pulled out of my head until I got there. I had been psyching myself up about it, trying to mentally prepare myself for the absence of all 16 teeth. I was sad and anxious when I woke up in the morning of the day of the appointment, and even more bummed as I was sat in the dental chair. Lovely sounds of dental drills around me, realizing that I won’t ever have to worry about any drill touching my bottom jaw anymore.
I wish I had taken better care of my teeth and not been so scared to go to the dentist! I hadn’t been to the dentist in 8 years or more, partly due to being homeless for a bit, and partly due because I thought my teeth were fine. I had been told that I would really only have to come to the dentist once a year because my teeth were so good. I only had 2 fillings. Now I’ll have none! Never had to have braces either, for my teeth were straight. I’d been lucky. Luck ran out.
It wasn’t until the dentist came in and informed me that they would only be taking out 4 teeth, and I’d have to reschedule for another appointment to take 4 more out. He asked me which ones to take first, and I just told him to take out the bottom front, as they were loose. I have a slight overbite, so it’s really hard to tell I’m missing my bottoms. My next appointment to remove my molars, however, will not be for another month.
I have to go through all that anticipation and worry again for the month. Actually, I’ll be getting them out right before Christmas. Instead of wishing for my two front teeth I’ll have to wish for my bottom 4 teeth.
I ordered a vacuum from Amazon and got it today. It also broke today! The brush stopped turning, and that’s not really conducive to vacuuming my carpet. So I had to box it back up as best as I could, and send it back to get a replacement. At least they accepted a return. Don’t know why I wrote about that.
